First-session roadmap

Poly Loot Beginner Guide

Your strongest opening is to collect quests before settling into a grind. Poly Loot lets you carry several quests together, and their objectives often overlap. A little setup turns the same monster kills and item pickups into more progress.

Start here

Your first five minutes

  1. Talk to every quest-giver around spawn. Check the outdoor NPCs, nearby buildings and the Mayor instead of following only the first marker.
  2. Check the cave for more quests. There are additional quest-givers inside and around the cave, including objectives you will need later.
  3. Stack objectives before fighting. If two quests ask for nearby enemies or related drops, work on them during the same trip.
  4. Skip a wall and return stronger. A difficult boss or ability encounter does not need to stop the rest of your progress.
Suggested order

Beginner quest route

01

Sweep the starting settlement

Speak with every NPC showing a quest indicator. Check the main settlement, indoor NPCs and the Mayor before leaving.

02

Collect the cave quests

Continue into the nearby cave and check each branch. One route introduces abilities; others feed into normal combat progression.

03

Clear overlapping objectives

Fight manageable enemies and collect requested drops. Turn quests in together, then equip useful loot before the next trip.

04

Move to bones and skeletons

The early chain leads toward bones and skeletons. If they feel slow, improve your weapon, armor or stats first.

05

Unlock passive gold progress

Watch for the quest tied to the gold mine. It can keep producing gold while you work on other objectives.

06

Meet Miner Tom

Later cave quests introduce pickaxe progression. Miner Tom gives the pickaxe quest; a nearby NPC asks you to clear monsters.

Repeatable loop

How to keep progressing

1Accept quests
2Fight and collect
3Compare drops
4Upgrade and push on

Loot quality alone does not tell you whether an item fits your build. Equip a promising drop, test it against a familiar enemy, and compare clear speed and damage taken. Spend stat upgrades when the next area feels inefficient instead of letting progress stall.

Abilities can wait. The ability-related encounter can be a sharp early difficulty spike. Finish easier objectives and return when your gear and combat timing improve.
Quick fixes

Common beginner mistakes

  • Grinding before collecting quests: you miss credit and make the same trip twice.
  • Forcing one difficult fight: another quest line may offer easier upgrades first.
  • Ignoring ordinary drops: a practical upgrade matters more than its appearance.
  • Forgetting resource systems: the gold mine and mining both reward early setup.
